To Study Functional Outcome for Upper Limb Phalanx Fracture Treated by JESS Fixator

Purpose: To study functional outcome for upper limb phalanx fracture treated by Joshi’s External Stabilizing System (JESS) fixator. Material and Methods: 68 patients were operated Upper phalynx in a tertiary health care setup with JESS fixator reviewed at 3 weeks, 6 weeks 3months. After the procedure, assessed using DASH (Disabilities or Arm, Shoulder Hand) scoring scale. Results: Mean Adjusted scores of finger over consequent visits months. We found that mean adjusted score improved each visit as compared to first all joints (p<0.001). Out total participants, 63 had no complications (92.65%). Only 5 participants complications, out which 2 joint stiffness (2.94%) superficial pin track infection while 1 loosening (1.47%). Conclusion: From results, we can safely conclude is an effective alternative treatment fractures phalanges. It cheap easily available. Technically, also it less demanding. Also there good suggested our findings terms improvement range motion well period three follow up planned months very few complications.
